Goose Eggs as Christmas ornaments

"8" Do you have the instructions for me? Tell me what I do first, prep the egg, drain it and so on. I've got to make 3 of them, minimum. Thanks!

Sorry i was a bit sidetracked this week,
1. Wash the shells off, getting stains off a full egg is easier than washing the empty egg.
2. Punch holes in each end with a small nail by lightly tapping with a hammer while holding the egg in your hand.
3. Scramble the yolk lightly with the nail if long enough to reach inside. Something like a chopstick would work also, this makes the yolk come out easier.
4. Blow into one of the holes in the egg, the yolk should squirt out like a squirt gun. I used my own wind but an aircompressor might work if its not too powerful.
5. Once the yolk is out, using a shringe, without the needle squirt warm water and dish soap(anti bacterial is best) into the shell cover both holes with fingers and gently shake, washing out the shell. If the egg is bad like some of mine were a little bleach water will take care of the smell.
6. repeat step 4
7. Let drain sitting normal in an egg carton until dry, mine were dry in about a day.
8. Once dry you can paint, a base/primer coat is best this covers up any permanent stains i used white because it a good basic color and can be covered with less coats when painting over it with other colors. Its really up to you though. I used spray paint for this its quicker.
9. Paint on your first color (if you chose more than one) let dry.
10.For the designs i used electrical tape because it stretches and hugs the contours of the egg the best and doesnt let paint bleed under. All other tape bunched and bubbled up around curves. Then i painted over the tape.
11. Once the paint was dry, i gently pulled up the ends of the tape and slowly peeled it off this gave me straight lines and sharp edges
12. Once the design was done i then used hot glue to attach any beads, bows and hooks to the egg, it seems to hold best. The egg should be an ornament now and ready for the tree.

I hope this helps, if you need to know anything else just ask.

"8", thank you for the instructions! I've got plenty of beautiful eggs! Now have to explore decoration ideas! What type of paint works best? Latex, water base, acrylic, wall paint? Thanks!

Here they are on the Tree.

Very pretty 8. my tree is so small I'd have to use quail eggs to decorate it.
The same here I have a very small tree I use for Christmas because no one comes over anymore for Christmas.... I have a big beautiful one and some very pretty ornaments but why put it up since no one comes to see us.
But If I knew how to do the eggs and had the energy to do them it would be a great hobby to do.
