Yes cleaning, although he's been wanting to take a cap off, grind or smooth a place on a tooth with no cap. Can reach it with the cap off next to it. We'll see if he does.

Out of 28 chicks (bought 25 total) shipped we lost 4 of the cream legbars. 2 of the Saipans don't look really strong like the rest. I called Cackle and they gave me a refund already for the 1 Cream Legbar that was not covered by an extra and even refunded for the 2 week ones just in case they don't make it. Customer service is really nice and spoke my dialect of English.

With the outdoor temp at 101 the entire sun room is a giant brooder now. I think it's safe for me to take a nap. I'm really exhausted after having to make a run out of town for a wheel and tire for the John Deere utility cart.

Curious why you like the Saipan.

For their size. They are heavy birds. I want to cross them with Dark Cornish as some White Rock hen and see how those crosses are for freezer camp chickens.

I'll be using them more if I buy more chicks later. Probably 13 each of two heavy weight dual purpose pullets. White Rocks and White Giants. I love both of those breeds.
