Ahh..good meat birds. For their size. They are heavy birds. I want to cross them with Dark Cornish as some White Rock hen and see how those crosses are for freezer camp chickens.
Now those will be..meaty!I may get some Light Brahmans to cross with the Saipans too.
I remember loving my RIR's. I had a "pure" RIR chick, that a feral cat made a snack out of. I was so mad. It was a good sized chick by then too. Looking good.Cackle has show quality Rhode Island Reds now. May have to get 10 pullets and two roosters to breed a few of those for local sales.
Nap time for me too. Almost 1.Saipans and Brahmas are about the same weight. With some hybrid vigor from the cross they may grow off quicker that either parent. Need a nap bad. It's 102° outside. BBL
Yea, he probably got a little on him. Probably had to get rid of the pants anyway.Did you notice the guys window was down a bit?!
Any pictures of them?Gotta get up early to let my two puppies (cavalier) out. Once they start squirming, I don't trust Butchy Boy to hold it. Since he started doing the big boy stance, he will dump his bladder in my shoes if I wait too long. So I let them out and make sure the gates are locked and I flop back in bed. Coolest time of day to play
why did you change from murry to cackle?Cackle has show quality Rhode Island Reds now. May have to get 10 pullets and two roosters to breed a few of those for local sales.
