Growing our flock: New bigger coop? Remodel existing coop? Add second coop?

That is BlackJack 57, it is a roofing product that is often touted on this forum.

My experience with it - excellent after 5+ years.
I love this stuff! I did 2 coats on the coop floor and up side walls a few inches. It is now about 12 years old and still looks good.
I would definately use it again.

Sounds messy
Not really any more messy than paint. I used an mixer attached to a cordless drill to stir it well. Put it on with a fluffy paint roller. Let dry overnight and did the 2nd coat the next morning. Very little odor, too.

Most paint is latex and if one hustles can be removed with water. BJ57 is a petroleum based product and cannot reasonably be removed.

Old clothes recommended.
Definately old clothes.

It would take thinner to clean up brushes or rollers with BJ57. I was saying it will go on like paint, more like oil based paints.

After the 1st coat, I wrapped the roller in plastic. It kept it from drying out so I could use it again the next day.

x2 on that, I used wide brushes but wrapped them all in plastic so they could still be used on the 2nd coat.

I pretty much keep a bin of old clothing for any big projects in the chicken area. Easier to toss than trying to clean off a thick layer of "stuff" of any sort.
