I adopted a couple of young cockerels from a rooster sanctuary, one I’m pretty sure is some kind of Easter Egger/Olive Egger, but the other one I’m not sure of. He’s probably some kind of backyard mix, but on the off-chance that he’s a purebred or some kind of recognizable mix of breeds, I’m just curious to know. Any ideas?

His name is Sascha, btw, even if he’s a mutt I still think he’s beautiful!

He is beautiful. I’m guessing he’s a similar mix as the other one, judging by the slate legs. He’s possibly mixed with a lighter breed like an Andalusian, because he looks pretty small and he’s got big eyes.

Thanks! These two aren’t related, although EE mixes are popular enough that I wouldn’t be surprised if they both just happened to be that. He’s also bigger than he looks in the picture, although most of it is that he has very long legs. He’s taller than the other roo even though he’s younger. The lady I got him from said his big eyes remind her of an Australorp, but his face and build are much lighter.
