Hands on experience with doing a turkey in a yardbird plucker?

That's what I'll be doing is heritage birds and only a few a year maybe 10 at the most. I wasn't sure how strong of a motor they have. If there's a chance it'll tear it up I'd rather just get a turkey plucker. But I do have 25 cornish birds coming in October main reason for the purchase.

We've rented one when needed from two different sources. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the brands on these pluckers. These pluckers did not work well for turkerys at all. They got stuck. Much easier to hand pluck (even doing 10): faster, less tears on skin, better looking end product. I don't remember the exact weights our Cornish cross when we used it successfully. I'm guessing under 12lbs live weight (some got huge) and the plucker still worked smoothly.

I did 2 young roosters 2 days ago it worked really good. It'll mainly be for the 25 cornish I have ordered for for Oct to clean in November. The few turkeys I planned on doin were sold a couple weeks back so cleaning one isn't an issue any time soon.

That’s fantastic it’s worked out so well already! It’ll be great to have on hand with those numbers of broilers.
