someone on here said it was safe to spray the actual products on the chickens ... anyone expericed it it? 20 $ a bottleanyone?

It looks like a very bad idea! Permethrin dust is safe and effective, and approved for use in poultry. That stuff is sold for dogs ONLY, and not any other species. Mary

I use the stuff to spray the coop itself, NOT the chickens. It's a good all around bug killer. Leaves a residue that kills for a while. Use it to spray the corners, and roost mounts in the coop.

I've never used it as a dip. But, I have sprayed the coop with it, and I've haven't had any bug/mite problems.

I cant see much difference in it but he Gordons 10 ... 10% permithins spray and the Happy Jack which is 17 % both sold at Tractor Supply
I called Gordons they said spray.. But I dont see how its going to get down in their skin..from top of their feathers....
called Hubby relative, she works a zoo , used to now works at a sanctuary and has animals and exotics.. she said they used Adams flea and tick spray for the injured birds....

Yes, I did ask, But................................ So what. No, I did not want to dunk my birds in a tub of water, up to their necks. The term, 'Mad as a wet hen' came to mind. Some of them, are crabby enough as it is. I don't need to encourage it. Like I said, I use it to spray the coop. If I was going to do anything with the birds themselves, I'd powder them with sevin. But, as I said, I don't have any problems. (Knocking on wood, right now)

jack E the reason I asked I was hopeing it worked for you....I hate flying dust.. more airborne.. I ended up using "Gordons Pyr 10 "from TSC... and olive oil on combs etc. olive oil in ears for some and some creamy looking ear mite med from" Pro LABS EAR Mite killer"
not sure which store I bought it locally.. I opened the coop yesterday and I hate that smell(from the "Gordon's" .. I even sprayed the tractor coops pine shaving.. smells like a pertoleum residue to me...
has anyone did the Adams flea and tick spray?????/
anyonw try naturl like Oil or Oregano. read some used Coconut oil...
That tractor coop is a lot of cedar too but not all.....
unfortunetly sprayed them after dark and it was getting cool the other nite. Prayed I did not harm them.... Did all but the vaseline on legs. Now need to see about Baby Girl's foot... she is the easiest to work with.. LOL
I bet mey chickens hate us they run more....
One nice member showed ducking her chickens three time iast being lime sulfur.. seems alot easier to me.....
Has anyone seen an actual Ear product labeled for chickens....???

Ivermectin pour is labeled for bovine. Almost everything else you treat a chicken with is labeled for another animal, IE; wormers, mite treatments, even treatment for wry neck is selenium and vitamin E, which is a product for goats.
