Has anyone bred Lavender Orpington with Blue Laces Red Wyandotte?

Dang, I have eggs I set incubator, LO hen-RIR rooster, do you think those would go black also? I had a OE rooster and a blue andelusian hen. The chick was a boy was mostly just B&W barred like the OE. no blue.

So is your blue laced truly a blue laced? Or is he splash like most hatchery BLRW? Photo of my BLRW pullet that is actually a splash as an example. Matters for the cross. Lavender birds when crossed with any other color other than lavender will act as black. Lavender is dilute of black and recessive. You need two copies to get the lavender color.
If your roo is blue laced:
Half the chicks will be blue, half will be black. The blue ones will be self laced.
If the roo is splash laced, all will be blue and all will be self laced.
No red in the offspring.
All chicks from either cross will be split to lavender.😊View attachment 2525437
My neighbor gave me 4 of his hens. 3 black laced Wyandottes and one wyandotte who looks just like your hen pictured here. I've always wondered the variation. So this is a "splash" BLRW? Sorry to butt in... This post just caught my attention.

Oh, ok. What does split to lavender mean? Some would be actually lavender ? Sorry I am new to genetics
Sorry! Split to lavender means the birds will look black (or blue), but be recessive for lavender. If you cross these birds to each other, then 25% will be lavender.
Punnet square you may have seen in school at some point:

Let's say in the above example, your crosses are black visually (phenotype) but both are split to lavender, (genotype). We will call them Aa. When crossed to each other, 25% will be black and not carry lavender (AA), 50% will be Aa and like the parents will look black but carry lavender, and 25% will be lavender with two copies of the recessive gene and will then be visually lavender in color. Hope this makes sense. 😊

No problem. 😊
Blue laced red wyandottes follow blue genetics like any other blue bird.
BBS also known as blue/black/splash is as follows:

For some reason, many hatchery birds, seem to be splash. I have ordered many BLRW and they have all turned out splash. Probably random occurence though. The really gorgeous blue that you see are normally from a breeder who is focusing on the clarity of color and lacing. Though our "Rosie" looks pretty good for a hatchery bird to me.😊

Lavender/RIR=black chicks split to lavender
Barred roo/blue hen = 50% black barred, 50% blue barred. Not sex linked (would be if hen was the barred one) 😊

Very educational, thank you for that and yes, Rosie is a pretty bird!
