Heating in mild weather

I’m pretty sure they won’t need a heat lamp until it’s -20F. My Barred Rocks, Buff orpingtons, and Easter egger survived -15F with 2 three month old Oddballs, a Naked Neck and a Black faverolle mix.
 
How hot does it get?
Heat can be harder on them than cold.


Yes. I thought of this after I posted yesterday. If your colder temps are like my warmest, you probably live in a relatively hot place. There are some great resources on BYC and I'm sure you can find info on here before peak summer heat. Better to plan now while there is still time to build/modify anything you may need too. One of the reasons I have a few Wyandottes is because I read time and again about them being cold hardy!
