Hatching
Good morning,
I am having a serious issue with one of my ladies.
Friday morning she was fine. In the late afternoon, I spotted her in the coop on the roost being a little quiet. I offered her some blueberries, and she jumped down and gobbled them up.
Later I noticed her back on the roost again, and saw some blood on the perch. Then I seen her back side, vent spasming and green and white diarrhea with blood oozing out of her.
Called a chicken friend, sent her pictures and she suggested - coccidiosis.
So I got some Corid and started dosing her and the rest of my girls. We only have #4 chickens.
My chickens are just over a year old.
They are Prairie Bluebell Eggers.
We isolated her, and gave her espom salt bath. That was Friday evening.
Saturday, she was them same - constantly pulsating and oozing. No blood. She's not eating or drinking. Now she is prolapsed.
Yesterday, Sunday, she still constantly pulsating, but prolapse not as bad. She did start drinking. Corid and electrolyte water. Didn't offer food. Gave her espom salt bath, checked her to see if she was egg bound. Didn't feel anything inside her. Used kyjelly and lubed inside. Spasms showdown.
Today, Monday, she is slowly spasming, brown and white oozing, swollen vent, and not eating or drinking. Color is good not pale. Check her crop, and its bony. Little Pimento has lost a lot of weight.
