Hello, new here and new to chickens.

Pics
They were probably afraid to jump down for not being sure of the bedding on the floor. They will get used to it in a day or so.
My Littles did that as I switch bedding according to the seasons. Sawdust for summer , flakes for winter. They are fine now and don't care what's on the floor.

I added a second window and made their pop door a bit bigger. See how they are tomorrow. ill add more wood chips too. If they are stilll hesitant after a few days ill lower it a bit.

Having something of a nightmare trying to get these girls to stay on their roost bar. Last 3 nights im constant putting the BO's up and they just keep jumping down and hiding in the corner! The Light Sussex stays up (and gets up herself). The BO's have never tried getting up and just constantly jump down. I'm worried they are going to hurt themselves, they keep jumping into walls and stuff. They only stay up if it's pitch black when I put them up there!

They are still afraid and adjusting to you and their new home. Chickens don't like change. Give them time.
You can put in a lower training roost and see if they take to that. They will eventually roost on their own. Just leave them be unless they are trying to sleep in a nest box. You don't want that.
