(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens, though I've wanted to have backyard chickens for a long time. We're planning to get some this spring!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None yet, but we're planning on just three as we live in a city.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I plan to get easter eggers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I'm looking forward to table scraps getting used better, the eggs of course, and compost for my garden. I also like making pysanky eggs, and I think they'll be extra pretty with the blue easter egger eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I knit, bake, read, draw, paint, play video games, throw pottery, garden, raise succulents, and collect tea. I didn't have enough hobbies so I'm adding another haha
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a husband and two littles, and one cat. I'm at home with the kids for now, which gives me the time to be able to start up some hens!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC while looking for info on how best to get started. It didn't take very long before I wanted to participate in the conversations here and ask for advice, so I'm making it official!
