Help! Chick gasping for breath and won’t stop!

Okay, ether the chick has an allergy to garlic, the garlic was bad, the feed went bad, something got in the feed, or the chick possibly swallowed it’s own tongue?

Has it gotten better? If not, I would put it in your (this going to sound weird) but put it in your shirt with your hand cupped around it. Sometimes natural warmth is good for them. Also if it's right next to your heart it could be soothed. I honestly don't know a ton, but this has helped in the past for me. This next part is not backed up with any medical knowledge, feel free to skip or ignore, just wanted to disclaim that. But it might have something in it's nostril or throat. If there's something blocking nose, maybe try to clean it out just with a soft towel, or if you can see something further down, maybe some water? If it's in the throat, maybe massage it's neck. Try to help push it down. Again this is just what I would be doing in the moment this is not backed by science. But overall, if you think you can't do anything, just try to calm it. It could even help it calm down enough to eat or drink, if it's not. Speaking of, if it's not drinking, we usually use a syringe type thing to sorta, force water down. Might help with any blockage or if it's just necessary. Hope it gets well soon. :fl

It now will not get up our wake up. It’s completely limp and it’s just laying here still gasping and occasionally spasming. It’s doubtful it will drink so i can give it electrolytes our hydrate it. I don’t think it will last much longer. :(

Thanks for the advice!

Like I said earlier, syringe. It's a little forceful but it's probably necessary. If it's completely limp, I definitely would strongly suggest the shirt thing. We had a baby turkey that wouldn't move for a while and I did that with him and he started moving and chirping. Good Luck!

I hope it gets better, I had a chick die like yesterday yet it was nothing like this . . .
