That's the stuff. I did 1 tsp to a gallon of water but I'm having trouble getting her to drink. I dipped her beak several times and put drops from my finger on the top of her beak. So I'm hoping that will help. She is a 12 week old Cochin Bantam and such a sweetheart.
If she won't drink or isn't drinking enough, try drenching her - use a plastic syringe, fill it with some Corid treated water, and squirt it directly into her mouth. Repeat every few hours as needed until she starts drinking for herself.
Please do not just put liquids into her beak, she could aspirate or choke.
Dripping will work or you if she will eat something, soak little pieces of bread with the Corid solution.
If you have liquid Corid - you can give it undiluted if need be (in addition to making mixed solution available). Direct undiluted dose is .0.28 ml per 3lb. Since she is young, give her 3-5drops a couple of times a day. Corid is very mild and safe, so don't worry about over dosing her.
Corid dosage for Cocci is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon.
Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.
After they finish treatment offer some poultry vitamins and probiotics/plain yogurt.
I just dipped her beak and dripped it on the tip of her beak. I used the Cord water and made a porridge out of her food. She seemed to really like that and ate quite a bit. I also put some blueberries in her water hoping that will encourage her to drink more. She was up and alert this morning but after a good breakfast she seemed tired again. Should I go ahead and treat the rest of the flock too? If so...same dosage? Thank all of you so much for the help and pictures!!
Her poop looks normal and I haven't seen any blood. I have her in the house in a dog crate and she seems pretty content. So I should make a new batch of Corid water everyday? Should I give the others the same dosage?
