Help! Cuts on baby chick feet, no idea why!

Could it be dry skin due to the artificial heating? You may want to try applying some skin care/coconut oil.

I'll try that today while waiting for the antibiotic ointment

I had one like that. Her toes were constantly pecked by a broodmate we affectionately call Pecky Becky. Once the initial scan formed, the chick itself tended to peck it occasionally until it would seep blood just a little and then leave it alone. I think it took all of two weeks to clear up.
