HELP!Favorite ROOSTER had fight, BADLY INJURED Graphic Picture Warning

What does he normally eat? Crumbles or corn? Or you can try feeding him some scrambled eggs. Those are nice and soft and should go down nicely. Just make sure he's had plently to drink before you feed him, so nothing gets stuck.

The saline solution shouldn't sting as much--I know it sounds weird, but if you've ever bitten your lip, y'know how it tastes salty? That's because our blood has salt in it. They use intravenous saline for patients in the hospital who have had major injuries to help replace their blood.

(I wish you had an IV for your roo!)

What kind of dairy products do y'all have? Buttermilk?

Normally eats lots of leaftovers, and especially bread and wheat. Just whatever really. And probably bugs that they find themselves.

We have eggs from our chickens, so i'll do that. Sorry for my ignorance, but how do you scramble eggs?

No dairy. I and my family have been trying not to have dairy.

Take a couple of eggs (one should be fine to start), crack one into a bowl and beat it with a fork.

If you have a microwave, you can put it in there for a few seconds at a time, stirring occasionally with the fork until its more or less solid.

For a stovetop/range/normal oven, put it in a saucepan and stir occasionally with a spatula/spoon. The egg will start to cook on the bottom first, so its important to scrape the solid parts off the bottom of the pan with the spoon so it doesn't burn, and the runny part can get cooked.

I am wondering if the Roos neck is broken....if he is suffering.

You might try this.......take a toilet paper or paper towel roll.....cut it to about 3 inches long, then slit it open.....wrap cotton or paper towel areound the top and bottom of it, and slip ot around his neck. This will help hold the neck in a more straight position. Like a neck brace. Just make sure, the toilet paper/paper towel cardboard is NOT rubbin against his neck...make sure its covered with cotton...or something soft. Then lighty tape the "brace" back together, so it wont come off.
I sure hope he heals for you....and wish you could take him to the vet, for xrays. Do you have Aspirin? Regular Bayer Aspirin? If so....dissolve one in a gallon of water, and offer that to him for the pain. Good luck, and keep us posted.

I worked with a gal who is a 7th Day Adventist...it's an interesting religion..the easiest explanation is Kosher, but not Jewish...correct me if I'm wrong. The Sabbath is on Saturday like the Orthodox Jew, not on Sunday, like most of the other Christian faiths.
Please keep us updated on how he's doing.

No I don't have aspirin.

And he wouldn't eat, but he crowed this morning. (I tried the scrambled egg but he wouldn't eat it)

That's a good thing...did you see him crow?
Did you just put the egg in and leave it or did you actually try and feed it to him? Sometimes you have just put it right on the end of their beaks.

Oh Im so sorry to hear about your rooster. MY dog had gotten in my bantam pen and killed my cochin roo and a young frizzle hen. The frizzle mother was all torn up but still alive. I brought her in the house to keep her warm and lifted the water to her beak every two hours. She would drink if I did that for her. I also hard boiled some eggs and fed her the yolk. Its been two weeks now and she is a lot better. I put neosporin on her wounds. It also seemed to keep the flys away. Hope your Roo makes it through.
