Bless you for helping that poor girl! First off, definitely keep her separated from your flock until she’s fully recovered—giving her a safe, quiet space to rest is key. Check her for any obvious injuries like broken wings, legs, or bruises, and clean any wounds carefully with a mild antiseptic like Vetericyn or saline solution. Make sure she has access to fresh water and food (you could offer some chick starter or something easy for her to digest). Keep her in a warm, dry area to reduce stress and support healing.

Monitor her closely for signs of shock, infection, or any changes in behavior—if she seems lethargic or weak, she may need some extra TLC or vitamins to help her recover. You’re doing great by bringing her in! The fact that she’s not infected is a good sign, and chickens are pretty resilient, so she definitely has a chance. Keep a close eye on her, and hopefully, she’ll be back on her feet in no time!

Hello! He/she has been doing good! It’s really gotten used to me and and is so sweet . My only issue is still its right leg. Still limping a little so I’ve been wrapping it and stuff. Also, sometimes I can hear it wheezing. Does anybody have any suggestions on his feeding? I feed him 3 times a day. Starter feed so it’s easy to digest.

Did we rule out bumblefoot for the limping symptom?

So good to hear that is sweet and bonding with you? Do his legs appear normal or is there any bowing in or out of one leg? Pictures are always helpful.

I think it is bumblefoot but a mild case of it. There was brownish stuff on its toes as well but now both his feet are clean and clear except on the middle of his right foot.
