Help hen can’t drink water is something in her throat

I'd look inside the beak, inside the ears and check her crop.

When was she lasted dewormed?
She hasn’t been deworming a couple months, should I deworm my flock. I’ve been checking her crop daily and I’ve looked in her beak but I’ll do it again, and I haven’t thought to check her ears but I will. For now she’s seems a lot better she’s eating fine and not shaking her head as much but I haven’t been able to watch her drink in a while because I’ve been really busy this weekend so I’ll try to monitor her after school.

What do you use as a dewormer?

It may be time to deworm again. I'd try to see how she's doing while drinking, if she's eating fine then whatever is going on has resolved if she's drinking o.k. too. Perhaps she had something stuck in the throat.

But I'd monitor her the best you can, I'm sure it's difficult to do when you have school and many other things going on.

I don’t have a regular dewormer so I’m very open to recommendations

o treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworm you can use Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen (Albendazole). Both are given orally by weight; they do not mix well with water.

Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.
---OR---
Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days

Here's how to give oral medications:

Thank you I’ll look into those, is it better to treat my entire flock or just Sofia

I usually treat everyone, but if you wish, you can treat just her since she's the one having some problems.

It may be easier for you to treat just her since you have school, work, life, etc. That way you only have to "catch" one chicken daily to treat :)

If you have a lot of hens and not much time, but want to treat all of them, split them into some groups. Say deworm all the black hens, finish the course of treatment, then move on to all the white, buff, speckled, etc. Or group them however you like.

That’s a good Idea I’ll probably do that
