I have 7 almost 12 wk olds still in a brooder due to an coop delay.
I need a temporary, safe structure that they would be happy in outside till we either get the coop (fighting with the company) or my hubby has a chance to help me build one (works 80+ hrs a wk and has all the tools with him).

Any suggestions?!? I'm at a loss here and the biggest structure our supply stores carry are only good for 3 - 4 birds!

I KEPT MINE IN 2 GIANT BINS WITH SCREEN OVER THE TOP. IT WORKED UNTIL MY COOP WAS READY, DEEP GIANT BINS. WE CARRIED THEM OUT ( WE KEPT OURS ON THE FRONT PORCH AS IT WAS TO COLD OUT ) AND LET THEM FREE RANGE FOR A LONG WHILE THEN BACK IN THE BIN. ( SORRY FOR THE CAPS i MESSED UP lol )

i've been letting them out as much as i can but its looking like its going to be a few wks until we get a permanent coop set up and i need something else till then. I have 1 california white and she is so flighty that its starting to cause issues when it comes time to bring them in
I'm so frustrated by this !!!!

I don't know where you are specifically, but on craigs list there are 2 dog houses for sale, same ad. In the Fort Collins section, Farm and Garden, May 6, all the way at the bottom of the first page....its a maybe, not unless you are on the western slope in northern colorado....

I wrapped a roll of chicken wire around a lawn mower trailer. It had a solid floor in it. That gave them protectection from rain. They roost on top of the gate. They get turned out every morning.

you wouldn't happen to have a truck bed topper would you? A basic camper shell? This could be put on the ground on a simple 2x4 frame, Nest boxes at the front window, made from storage tubs, or something similar, that you could easily put a screw through.....

If you don't have one maybe a friend does, or maybe you can find one cheap on craigs or in the paper....
