Help! Sick yo Jersey giant hen

Thanks, I will do that! Later in the day she regained the progress she had made. Her head is slightly cocked but not too bad. This wry neck affliction sure is a strange thing. I feel sorry for her!
I'd see if she improves with the vitamin therapy.

She's not being kept from food by the others or being bullied? Just checking...sometimes one is a bit timid and they don't get to food/water like they should, then of course that leads to nutritional deficit related symptoms.

Wry Neck is neurological symptom, so hopefully it's not a sign of more serious illness like Marek's.

Hi, I am still giving her the vitamins and vitamin probiotic water via syringe. She was eating and drinking a little on her own. But yesterday she ate and drank very little. I think this morning i`m going to try some raw egg via syringe. She will likely take it if I dribble a tiny bit on her beak. I have her isolated in the run in a separate room I use for chicks. She is a Meyer hatchery bird that did have the Marek`s vaccine. I isolated right away as the flock did try to cull her. I take it that wry neck is a slow recovery, if there is a recovery. Is that a correct assumption? Again, thanks so much for your help!

Was her flock picking at her?

Did she suffer injury to the head/face?

Wry Neck can be slow to recover from, sometimes for whatever reason a bird may not recover fully. All you can do is try the vitamin therapy, see that she's eating/drinking, etc.

Wry Neck can be slow to recover from, sometimes for whatever reason a bird may not recover fully. All you can do is try the vitamin therapy, see that she's eating/drinking. The flock wasn`t picking on her that I noticed. I spend quite a bit of time around them so i`m sure I would have noticed. If there was an injury There is no visible evidence of it. Still a possibility of course. I will continue to give her the vitamins and help her eat and drink. Hopefully she recovers fully. Thanks again for the advice! I appreciate it! 🙂

Wry neck is just a symptom. Head or neck injury, vitamin E or thiamine (B1) deficiency, and diseases or viruses that can affect the brain are the causes. You may want to add a little spoonful of scrambled egg to her diet for selenium. That helps with the utilization of vitamin E. Good luck.

Thanks, I have been doing that. She has not been eating or drinking much. I have been giving rooster booster via a syringe and putting scrambled egg in her mouth. Today after I had given her some she did eat a little on her own finally. I take it that it takes a while for them to get well if they are going to get well.
