HELP.! What breed are my chickens?

Help Tractor supply sold them as ameraucana/americanas (not sure which spelling they used) just wondering if they are true or eastsr eggers? (They also had a different bin w/EE) that same day. Also what color eggs will I be getting?

Tractor Supply does NOT carry Ameraucanas. If they did, they would have been sold for at least $30 a chick. You have Easter Eggers. The eggs could be any shade of green or blue or even brown if they are hatchery EEs.

Wow they suckered me! Well hopefully they lay colored eggs because that's what I was looking for!

They are only using the labeling used by Hoover Hatchery from which they purchase chicks. Ameraucana chicks are very expensive and they only lay blue eggs.

Easter Eggers have the blue egg gene and are sold for $5-$7 per chick and will nearly always lay a blue or green shade of egg.

Hoover also spells the APA recognized breed, Ameraucana, incorrectly to throw people off. They call their Easter Eggers Americanas. We here at BYC like to call them Ameri-kindas.
