Not sure we’re hoping for more. Was adding eggs into the Bator for a while. I just realized my hygrometer wasn’t working on my incubation Bator (if that makes sense, I have an incubator for days 1-18 and one for lock down) a few days ago when I transferred a few eggs to my lock down bater so hopefully they will all make it. If not then this little guy has already beat the odds. I have a new hygrometer that will be here tomorrow and then I will continue to add eggs. So they are all staggered hatch days which I’m cool with. I can’t handle the stress of multiple hatching at one time yet! Lol still new to this. That is excellent. Is it just the one or does he have little friends? It is very sad when a chick has to grow up alone. My first batch i only got two due to my new incubator malfunctioning but at least they had each other.
Just moving them is likely not an issue. Especially if you moved them on day 18 and not day 21. It would only affect positioning. If the temp is a little low they might be a little slow. Some chicks wait to day 25 though i havent had one hatch past day 23 personally.
Heavier by scale? They should be getting lighter... give them yo day 25.I'm sorry to take this my way, but I have one quick question. I'm on day 23 of the incubation, and still I have no peeping or anything like that can I do anything about this? Also mine haven't made a sound! I think they're are still alive, because they got heavier.
Thats great! Its possible that he didnt absorb his yolk all the way due to malposition. I personally havent had any survive yolk out at hatch. Not even a tiny bit out. The first pic you posted looked like he was ready to get out. So i wouldnt say that the yolk was there because you helped too early good job aaiting thats the hardest part.He hatched out finally after some assistance and is doing great so far!!!
Yes he definitely wasn’t positioned correctly because he pipped out of the side of the egg not from the air sac. I have determined my humidity has been too high from days 1-18 I am now not worrying so much about humidity and starting to pay more attention the the air sac. So hopefully my hatch rate will start to go up. I live in NC so our humidity level is generally high enough here anyway. Can’t wait for my new hygrometer to get here tomorrow.Th
