I am alive and well.
I was taking advantage of the unseasonabley warm weather to get outside projects done.
I insulated the wall at the stairway in the garage. then I dug out some 2x2ft ceiling panels I had stored for about 22 years, they were salvaged from a job I did. I paneled the wall with them. I like to recycle when I can. I also added hand rails up the stairs. installed an LED light upstairs. Annie has been cleaning up there. she was using a head lamp for light. the LED is so much nicer.
got everything out of the way for snow plowing.
it snowed only once a few weeks ago. melted as it hit the ground.
on the cold days, I started two 5 gallon batches of blackberry wine. one is bottled already.
the other should be ready in about a week.
now, as long as all the fermenting equipment is still out, I am thinking of making 5 gallons of beer.
not pilsner like last time. just a lager. much easier and I like the taste better.
I hope to stay in contact better from now on.
thanks for thinking of me.
Wow Jim, you sure have been busy! Glad to hear you are OK.
I woke up to a stabbing pain in my neck. Idk where that came from, but I don't want to experience that again! Sometimes happens if I am coming down with something. Then I started sneezing. U g h. I took some Zicam, muscle relaxer and Gatorade. Then slept a whole lot. Microwave buddy provided heat to relax the muscles. Getting older is no picnic!

How are you feeling today?

I grabbed three 16w cockerels Saturday at sunrise. It was fairly nice out. By the time I ran them through the plucker I was feeling week. Have been having this since I got covid....So I threw them in the refrigerator. Yesterday they were still stiff so today I parted them out. The vacuum sealer decided to not vacuum after 3 birds. Argh 😤

Before I started parting out.

Molpet, what kind of plucker do you have?
We always parted the chickens.. takes up less room in the freezer.
When I worked on a chicken farm I learned a trick for freezing chickens.
They put the chickens into plastic bags.
Then holding the bag at the top, dip the bag into a deep bucket of water. the water squeezes the air out. Not quite as much as a sealing machine does, but it is quite effective.
good news today. the fixit guy came by. he checked the rotor cap on the tractor. cleaned it a bit and the tractor started right up. what a relief.

I have a yardbird plucker.
Glad the tractor was an easy fix

I know what a yardbird plucker is.
it is similar to the whizbang.
I built five whizbangs and sold them.
the tractor was not just an easy fix,
Jason didn't charge me any $ for fixing it.
I guess because we both were so relieved that the distributor drive didn't break again.
It is still raining. it started just after 4PM last night.
by 10PM we already had 1/4 "
