I need to get some bird taming tips from you then, lol
Honestly when we first got back from getting them the power went out for 8 hrs so I ended up holding them in my arms to keep them warm and eventually just fell asleep with them. Now I deal with this everytime I sit down

I have one chick that will sit on my lap and climb on me. The only thing I can figure out that was different with her is, she was the first to hatch and was alone for an hour until the next chick hatched, so I sat and talked to her and handled her a little bit to keep her company. The rest had her or each other for company so I was irrelevant.

The next batch will defiantly be handled more than this one. They were so tiny and fragile, I also had to keep a close eye on my two dogs when I was handling them. One dog doesn't pay them any attention the other barks and whines when they go in their house since she can't see them, lol. If she can see them she quietly lays by their pen just watching them and their antics.

As well as this when I leave the room and they can't follow me...
I made a little ladder for them to get out of the brooder and onto my lap whenever they wanted because they kept chirping at me the second I put them down. The ladder made it so that all of our interactions were on

That's adorable my kitty has adopted them, she curls up in the brooder with them when they seem chilly and watches them at night while I'm asleep and if something goes wrong she jumps on me until I wake up to deal with it haha.
Another thing I did that was really helpful actually was that I made a little ladder for them to get out of the brooder and onto my lap whenever they wanted because they kept chirping at me the second I put them down. The ladder made it so that all of our interactions were on their terms from that point so if they wanted attention and cuddles they could get it and if they had enough they could leave. I don't grab or pick them up unless it's really important and in those scenarios I offer a finger which they gladly step on coz they know I'm gonna give them pets and scritches if they do (especially around the neck they go crazy for, I think it's because the feathers coming in can be itchy for them). They don't even need the ladder anymore they can jump up to the top of the brooder and jump out when they want so the ladder is on the outside now to help them get back in when they're cold

That's so awesome! I had to go to Tractor Supply yesterday to get more chick feed and thankfully they only had Turken chicks (Naked Necks) or I probably would've come home with an armful of chicks.
