Hen Stopped Laying

I have three hens. Two of them are of laying age. For some reason; one of them quit laying. It’s been about four days. They both look healthy and happy. I’m confused and a little concerned.

Could she be laying in a secret nest? I still wouldn't be too concerned about a four-day break. Do you know exactly how old they are? Are any of them showing signs of molting?

It’s normal for hens <1 year to have odd egg laying habits. It’s also normal for hens >1 year to have reduced laying, or to stop laying, during a molt, or during fall / winter as the daylight shortens.

All of my girls who are over 1 year old are currently molting and have stopped laying. I do not expect them to start again until early spring (February-March). If you think about it, why would they want ducklings in the winter?

27 weeks. The two that are laying. They don’t appear to be molting. But I’m so new to raising birds.

I’m not sure if she’s laying somewhere else. The last egg I found of hers, was in the run…
