My duck will not lay her egg

How many ducks do you have? Do you have other females to compare how their abdomen feels because it’s really hard to feel an egg and you might be feeling something else that’s normal- ducks are experts at hiding their eggs in random places. You would never expect she might be laying them somewhere that you haven’t found.

I have 12 ducks (4 call ducks). I have gotten very good at feeling eggs and am usually not wrong. At least I haven’t been yet. Thanks!

Calls are a breed of their own. They do what they want, when they want. Period. lol

Yes. I can feel duck eggs I’m not so good at feeling chicken eggs. Calls are definitely different! I have a call hen that is IN LOVE with a drake that’s about 3 pounds heavier than her! It’s cute but can be a real problem now that breeding season is in full swing!

Hello everyone! So I posted this under ducks because I would not say it’s an emergency. My call duck hen has just started laying a bit ago (this not her first year laying). I feel her tummy every day to see if she has an egg. Three days ago I felt an egg the next morning she didn’t lay it. I waited for a while and she still hasn’t laid. It’s been three days now and she still hasn’t. She doesn’t seem uncomfortable. Her tail isn’t pumping. Just no egg! She still poops. What should I do?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I used to find my duck eggs in the dirt. I think they hide them.

Oh I forgot to update sorry! She layed her egg after 7 days! It was in the pond and unusually large for a call duck. She is doing good but hasn’t laid since.
