Hi, We had chickens when I was in junior high (in the late '60s). I got started again just a few years ago. I have three grown hens, plus one grown guinea. I have a "teenaged" rooster who was given to me recently and I just got four more chicks a couple of weeks ago. I have a mixture of breeds, rooster and one hen are Rhode Island Reds, one White Leghorn, one Easter Egger. The babies are two and two of I don't remember. :/
I have had a lot of trouble from predators. I believe it is mostly stray dogs, but I do live in an area where fox and other predators could also be getting them.
I am working on hardening my defenses.
I am retired, have two dogs, and planning on getting goats as well.
I have come to this site many times in the past through links from other sites. I really appreciate everyone's willingness to help others.
