Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I don't know, the mashed taters look too much like frosting

. Maybe that's my prednisone talking? I'll bet they're wonderful!

Deviated from the menu again tonight, just lost my get-r-done. Supposed to be chicken fried steak, way too much work. Went with split pea soup and garlic bread instead.

They were so cotton pickin' good, Rachel! Like a meal in a bite! Not the prednisone talking - the mashed taters were supposed to look like frosting and the bacon like sprinkles. Should have taken a better shot of them so you could see just how much like little frosted cupcakes they really did look! Yummy, and of course the kids got a big kick out of them too.

Last night I butterflied a whole chicken, marinated it in lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, garlic, and rosemary, and hubby grilled it flattened with a foil covered pizza stone. Accompanied by roasted baby yukon gold potatoes and carrots, and a bellyache salad.

fish tacos.

Honey and I went fishing and came home with one beautiful trout. I cooked that baby up but we're too full to eat it tonight. I'm thinking it will make one or two very nice trout cakes for lunch tomorrow
