Well, unfortunately you are correct. The jaws are too bulky to fit in 1/2 HC. Corners, or larger grid fencing it works great.

That's unfortunate to hear but thanks for reporting back so we all know!

I ended up using rebar ties ( metal wire) opposed to wire ties to fasten the HC. Don't have to worry about the rebar ties deteriorating like wire ties eventually will, and there chew proof too.

I had the old school spool of tie wire. Clip off a few inches and feed em though then twist.

The ones you found use a special tool to twist them. If you watch a video of someone used to working with them, it amazing how fast they can go.

I've seen those before. Very effective way to attach two panels together. However it won't help attaching HC to the panels.
