Hello everybody, I have a few questions about the frizzle gene. At the moment I have 3 frizzle hens and 1 frazzle hen in a coop with my silkie rooster. I’ve been getting frizzle and flat feathered satin chicks, but wanted to ask if the flat feathered satins would breed the same as a normal frizzle. Would the chicks of a frizzle and normal feathered satin carrying the gene still create a frazzle?
A few months ago I hatched what I’ve heard people call a “sizzle”. It had the silkies feathering, but the few feathers it did have would frizzle. Would that be normal for the chickens I have in my coop? It’s the only chick I’ve ever gotten that has that feathering.
I’ve been wanting to get cochin frizzle hens and a normal cochin rooster to get a fresh start and know what I’m hatching 100% of the time. Would that be a better way to go?
Any help is appreciated, thank you!
