how long can a chicken last in the freezer???

Vacuum sealed it can go for two to three years.

Just wrapped and frozen then nine to twelve months.

This would be for a proper deep freeze at zero degrees. An ordinary refrigerator freezer in the teens or twenties would be less.

We have three deep freezes - an "overflow" one that is 30cuft+, a upright that is a the size of a fridge, and a 7cuft+ chest freezer. The two big ones stay in the garage, and the chest one is in the washroom. I paid $200 for it new at Home Depot - and it's a wonderful thing to have. When we process deer or a lot of whatever that needs freezing, it goes in the upright in the garage (or into the overflow), and I stock the chest freezer with a mix of frozen goods. As I run low, I move more in from the big freezers. I keep different meats and the veggies stored in cloth bags you get at the grocery store for groceries, so I can just lift out the bags of stuff to get to whatever I want, and just set the bags back in.

Deep freezes are wonderful, wonderful things to own

we use a deep freeze (non-frost free) with a temp at or slightly below 0 deg F

our shrink bag wrapped birds look and taste the same a year later as they did after the first week.

generally a year is a good starting number.
