I went to the fabric dept at wally world looking for some nice fabric to brighten up my kitchen window. Everything seems dull and ugly to me right now, I think I've had enough winter! Anyhow, I saw some pretty rooster themed material and was sorely tempted, but didn't because I could already hear the SO's voice in my head, teasing me nonstop. I settled for some bright bandana patterned stuff instead and plan to make the topper out of matching bandanas sewed together.

I did tell the SO about the rooster material this morning and just as I thought....he said if I buy it I better buy lots of yellow fluffy material too....so he can make me a chick suit to wear while I'm cooking!

I ahve chicken curtains in my kitchen. I got them at Walmart actually. They are cream colored with quilt like chickies on them.
They would have gone great with the paint colors (autumn) we had picked out for the kitchen (our landlord loves to have us paint the place up!) but the bf painted it while I was at work and he picked out what he told me on the phone was "lemonade"...what did I come home to?
Shrek green! Nothing matches in there now...and he forgot to paint around the cabinets!

I never understood that. A couple of my friends asked me if I'd like some chicken-themed decorations for the house. I told them, how about I just keep the roosters in the house? They're handsome enough. For some reason, they thought that was silly.

Same thing with apple-themed decorations. Last owners of the house were really into apple decorated curtains, china, etc. As near as I can tell, I am the only one who used bowls and baskets of actual apples as decorations.

LOL I have chicken curtains in the kitchen. I also have chicken themed stuff in almost every room and on the front porch. I think they are beautiful. DH says now that we have real chickens in the yard I can lay off on the chicken ornaments in the house but that ain't gonna happen LOL. If anything I need more. I am very careful though to make sure that they are placed neatly and not too cluttered looking. I try to stick with vintage looking chicken stuff. I wanted the vintage egg scale from e-bay but the bidding on those has gotten out of hand. I'm sure lot's of you guys have them. LOL

I've got needlepoint pillows with chickens on the kitchen sofa, and an ottoman covered with chickens on denim!

I got RIR curtains that my Mother made me...and wall paper trim of a trio of colored roosters and hens on my border chair railings. And the salt hens collections on my chicken shelf from K's Merchandise.
