how to predator-proof top of coop where it meets corrugated roofing?

I'm starting my new coop build on Thursday, and I think I have most of the design details worked out, except for this: I'm using Ondura corrugated roofing on both the coop and the covered run. How can I predator-proof this junction where they meet? We have racoons. The run and all openings/vents will be covered with 1/2" hardware cloth. The roofing brand makes "closure strips" but using these would add a cost of $100 to the coop.

Electric wire so they can’t climb up. It works on my coops.

This is what I did, you might need a 2x2 across under the roofing to staple too.

I built my old coop like yours above, but this roofing material is corrugated plastic so there are lots of openings due to the wavy edge of hit, and no easy wax to affix hardware cloth to it.

I suppose electric wire could work but we have 3 kids- the youngest is 2 and could reach where the wire would be along the back where it is only 3.5ft tall. I’d rather avoid electric wire if I can.

To use hardware cloth install a 2x2 all the way up to the roof and drill screws in from the side roof rafters. Then attach the hardware cloth to it. You can run a roof screw into the 2x2 if you are worried about the raccoons pushing the roof up.

I wondered that too, I'm guessing a mouse will have no problems chewing through it if it wants.

Mercy, those are pricey. The ones for my steel roof panels I bought from Menards are less than 1/3 of the price for the same lineal feet.

However- the closure strips are made of foam. I wouldn’t think that would deter anything bent on getting in there. I would just leave it open if I were you and make sure you attach the roof panels at a point close to the edge to stop anything from prying it up.

I have patched holes with steel wool. Could you stuff it in the wavy holes? I had a racoon try to chew into my kitchen through my foam roof, but he did not like steel wool.
