My Mom is in St. Petersburg and won’t be able to get out either. She’s in a 10th floor apartment which actually puts her in evacuation zone D. They’re voluntarily evacuating zones A-C now, with at least A-B being mandatory evacuation at some point.
As was mentioned before, unless you were on the road already this weekend, there’s nowhere to go. No hotels etc.

Everything but zone d and e are mandatory evacs right now. I’m not in an evacuation zone.

I haven’t read this whole thread, but can someone tell me how we got from Helene 10 days ago to Milton now? What happened to the rest of the alphabet?!

There's lots of hurricanes and storms that firm in the Atlantic that never come close enough to land to become a worry.

There’s been 4 more hurricanes in between Helene and Milton

I’ve got to watch the news more I’m guessing they were named storms, not hurricanes?

Isaac and Joyce developed at sea and never made it to shore.
Kirk and Leslie are still active but at sea in the Atlantic and blowing east away from the US. They're also weakening.

All four were hurricanes 2 died out never making it to land 1 has started to die out and the fourth is still active
