Hey all, I just recently incubated my first batch of serama eggs. The first egg hatched earlier than the rest and is looking fairly weak/ isn’t really able to stand alone. It was born around 11am this morning and I’m currently writing this at 4:55pm.
I have experience incubating eggs, this is my first time every having an issue like this.
I’ve noticed the chick is breathing through its mouth and struggling to keep in water. It sort of blows bubbles out of its beak and seems to “spit” the water back up.
He chirps and makes noise so I don’t think he has water in his lungs. He also pooped for the first time a couple of mins ago.
Any help/leads with this? I really don’t want to lose a chick but realize I might be waking up to a very weak chick tomorrow.
