Hello Peabodies,
I realized or peacock is wrecking our couches, but then again we did not exactly give him a choice. He's used to perching on couches.
My plan is to create some sort of long heavy duty perch, but nothing else occurred to me but using four byfours on some sort of base or buying a gymnastic balance beam:)
I have an idea in my head, of a old dead tree trunk with some branch still attached to it, like a perch and I would attach this tree trunk into the floor so it would never tip over. But I have no such trees and have no idea where to buy large dead tree parts.

Also,if I at least fund large tree brach, I still have to devise a way that is not ugly for it to have a base/legs....

We gave our peacock furniture like chairs and side tables, etc, but it is still no perch and he chooses to walk on the edge of couch instead. I'm think if I give him some nice long options he will really enjoy it...

Any photos or ideas of long perches are appreciated...

When Peggy was in a big pen and I was trying to come up with perch options, one thing that seemed like it might be workable was something along the lines of a swingset frame; a structure designed specifically to not tip over. Like this:

This shape could be adapted to be lower to the ground, I think, and could work indoors.
Sawhorses were suggested to me but they are really designed to support something, not to be tip-proof.

Strangely, I found this thread on BYC, maybe it could give you some tips in this vein:
