Identification?

A lovely family came by, saw my hen house, and asked if I could adopt their hens. Can you help me identify the breed? I took them in and they are very sweet.

It’s possible they could be black Jersey Giant bc of the yellow feet bottoms with black feet/legs. However, I’m not sure how many you have or how many in the pics. Can you take shots of them standing, from the side so we can see shape, legs, comb, wattles, feathering on neck, back and tail. Those are ways to distinguish breed and gender.

tell us how old you were told they were. Did they tell you girls or boys? Why did they get rid if them?

They did not have the room for chickens - raised them from chicks - about three months old. Two of these and one plymouth barred rock. Will take the photos you requested! Thanks very much!!

good to know! When you post full pics, we can see better! But 3 months age should reveal a lot! Also, as @penny1960 noted, could be black sex link - a breed I’m not familiar with.

It's a cross that produces chicks that are sexable at hatch....usually high production layers.

looks to have some slight gold markings coming in around the neck. I think Black sex link.
