I'm so old I Remember when:

My mother grew up in the 40s. If she went out -- anywhere -- she wore stockings, gloves, a hat, a dress, and heels.
I noticed that in the senior people, they are very well dressed, and polite. Looking at them so properly and nicely dress and so gentle in manner make me feel all is well, everything is in order.
Not many people wear stocking these days. We got all casual? Just a little over 100 years ago people were wearing layers & layers of clothes. Sometime when I watch a period movie and thought how on earth do they breath?

Being of Italian descent my dad didn't go anywhere to include checking the mail without being dressed. Always at least dress pants, belt, dress shirt and shoes and combed hair. The amount of jewelry was dependent on where he was going and I don't think he owned jeans or any other t shirt other than under shirts. I like dressing up but don't really go many places to warrant it. My daily is just under shirt and hair gel. Everything else is just whatever

I usually use a polo shirt and pants. Shoes optional if at home.

That is just the normal things with the older generation, be respectful, proper, orderly. We are more casual now, sometimes too casual.
I am particular with my shoes, proper shoes that cover the feet, and I do try to be more properly/formally dress when I leave the house. At home, I think my chickens dress better than me.
My mom and grandma take forever to get ready whenever we go shopping. Especially my grandma, her hair was very thin and she insisted to go to the hairdresser. I say I can do it, she replied NO.
It is really nice to see older people still dress up properly, they make life seem not so chaotic.
