Oh, and the time we went to visit some people that lived on or near a farm with cows. What a joy that was when a single digit human ran out to see the cow and grab that electric fence.

I've got a tale to tell.

There is a monastery in a mountain about a few hours from here. Well, they have animals, and we know some of the monks really well. So we and some other people got a tour of the farm.
Now, I have always been a bit on the sarcastic side. We were by the cows, and I said, "Well, can't you just go to the back of the store? They make milk there". The other people started telling me about real cows, and how Californians don't know farms, etc., and then ZAP! Mr. Know-it-all got zapped by a electric fence. Turns out us Californians are smart enough to not do that.

Yes, I do, I do indeed! The time we spend in there to pick the video to rent, so much to look through. Those were the good old days. Now just glue our bottoms on the couch and pressed that button and there are unlimited stuff to choose from. Not even need to stand up.

Except companies have taken advantage and started charging too much for that. Hence why I believe in physical media.

Possibly both... Beneficial was from the greenhouse owner. Not to trust men you don't know from the glove factory foreman. The glove factory foreman shot and killed another man over the ugliest woman in town. He then killed himself. I also worked with the son of the man that did the killing in another factory. This was a 50+ year old memory.

Having grown up in beautiful Upstate NY and having gardened and gathered since I could toddle, I had to relearn it all when I moved to brown flat Oklahoma with it's 100° summers with sparse rain. I took serious advantage of my local greenhouse peeps.

I remember taping over the little tabs so I could record over "permanent" cassettes.

Oh yeah. Fun times.

Oh, I remember those things.
I was at work when September 11 happened. I thought it was a new action movie,it was showing on my monitor on my desk. Then people started talking and grouping together. I ran over and learned that it was real and the company I was working for had an office in one of the twin towers. (I am in Australia).

You were working an office job at 9:30 at night?

Sooooo, who remembers Blockbuster?

I remember them but we had a local rental company that had much better prices and no membership fees.
Then there's the public library where you could rent videos and books on tape for free. Might not be the latest releases but some good quality shows that we'd not otherwise be exposed to.
