I'm so old I Remember when:

Oh, and the time we went to visit some people that lived on or near a farm with cows. What a joy that was when a single digit human ran out to see the cow and grab that electric fence.
Electric fences - most only do that once. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£
My cousin Jeff used to pay no attention to whether it was on or off. This amazed me until he told me his barn boots were rubber and that insulated him from grounding the connection. šŸ˜Æ Real life is the best school.

Fountain made ice cold cherry cokes in a frosted mug. YEAH BABY!!:wee

Hm.. so many.

I remember when Netflix sent you physical DVDs with sleeves to return them (blew a teenager's mind with this one a couple weeks ago).

I remember waiting to hit the record button for a radio song on a cassette tape.

I remember taping over the little tabs so I could record over "permanent" cassettes.

I remember the HD/Blu-Ray war.

I remember waking up to hearing radio anchors repeat over and over "the twin towers have fallen".

My parents remember the Laserdisc vs. VHS. Never heard of Betamax before. Before my time, but we watched many a video on laserdisc growing up.
And BMG (i think it was) 20 cassettes for a Penny
I have a pretty extensive cassette collection

I remember when you didn't have to wait forever in line because someone wants to pay with their phone, and their phone isn't working, and there's only one register available.

I also remember when Whole Foods and other stores didn't have a scanner that allows you to pay with your handprint.
I remember when pay with phone didn't exist.

They do???
I am clearly living in the past. I have only just moved from cash to tapping my credit card on some gizmo that then beeps as it absorbs my money!

I'll stay in the past, thank you.

I will continue to use cash when possible, avoid stores' "targeted advertising cards," and not keep my life on my phone. I don't keep financial apps on my phone, nor social media, and the phone will never hold my fingerprints or other biometrics if I have a choice in the matter.

Until they force it, which I am sure they will eventually, my location will stay off.

My life belongs to me, not the phone company, so stay off my lawn, you young whippersnappers!

And to keep this on topic, I remember the time my mother's grocery bill hit $100. Such a freakout! Three (four?) loaded carts, and she grumbled about inflation and the cost of groceries for weeks.

100% with you!:thumbsup:thumbsup:highfive: Oh, and I remember when bread was in the sub $1.00 range. But, anymore I bake my mine for about a $1.27 per loaf versus about $4.00 store bought.

So, weā€™ve gone from cash transactions, to store charge plates, to credit cards, to online payments, to online banking, to swipe and go purchasing,( letā€™s also remember that we chip animals to ID them), to some form of biometric IDā€™ing for various purposes. How much longer before we make the leap to a totally cashless society and being chipped ourselves. Makes the biblical prediction in Revelations pretty relevant to me. BUT, to also stay on topic, does anyone remember Pixie Stix? Are they still made?
