I am so old I remember I used to NOT cook so much.
Not sure when, what, how and why I now cook many things that we eat. Baking bread, cakes, making pasta sauce, chilly sauce, pasta, yes actually making pasta from wheat flour and eggs, ferment apple cider vinegar, .etc.. I think I got the internet to blame. So much cooking!

Not that I do not enjoy it, but when did I do all these? I used to buy pasta sauce jar, now I buy lots of ripe tomatoes & make pasta sauce

I have issue buying a cake in the shop, I thought just beat up the eggs white to form a ribbon, then the egg yorks, a bit of sugar,etc... 2 hours gone passed.

New issue for me is that I think cake in the shop has too much addictive/sugar, pasta sauce in the jar has thickener.etc...

I did not cook this much many years before. I want my time back!

According to Wikidepia The Never on Sunday song is the theme song of the movie you mentioned. I just changed the lyric to cook, wash and clean as I feel I have been doing so much I need a break.
Just finished breakfast, then come take out the laundry, fold, hang and get around to lunch. Where has the time gone?
I will make a break on Sunday from now.

I have always enjoyed my own cooking from scratch better than anything premade, although sometimes the convenience of a nice sit down restaurant is treat. Welcome to the joy of healthy eating and the peace of knowing where your food comes from. Now to get you gardening so you don't need to buy your maters! (next year we'll work on you grinding wheat )
