I'm so old I remember when I didn't have an laptop or a iPhone. This is what I tell him all the time.
And I remember when neither of those existed.I'm so old I remember when I didn't have a laptop or a iPhone.
How did you exist ? Don't you need fifty thousand dopamine pings from scrolling on your phone all day to live? And I remember when neither of those existed.
Indeed. I learned to type on a manual typewriter, and the first computer I ever saw had a black screen and blue writing, with a total working memory of 56k.And I remember when neither of those existed.
Funny how when we were less connected we were actually more connected. And I remember when neither of those existed.
Of course we canāt tell the newer generations anything because theyāre WAY too smart for us, and know everything there is to know because of their vast life experience.Funny how when we were less connected we were actually more connected.
Ain't THAT the truth! I just sent a ton of perfectly good clothes to our local thrift shop. I'm shifting back to a much simpler wardrobe, like I had in my "olden days." My Aunt always claimed that I had run-around-the-barn jeans, run-around-the-house jeans, run-around-town jeans and dress-up jeans. She also swore that, if there was any such thing as a denim formal, I'd find it.I am so old I remember that entertainment was not at the shopping center, but at the park, the swimming pools, the cinema, friends' place, visit relatives, read a good book and I did not care if stuff were on sales. My dresser had 3 draws and that was all my clothes, school uniforms, best clothes, home clothes, and now I had load of clothes that I have not seen in years.
You can take the girl out of the country, but ...Ain't THAT the truth! I just sent a ton of perfectly good clothes to our local thrift shop. She finally got to see me in a "real" dress by making sure I was part of my cousin's wedding party. Being a dutiful niece, I caved and wore the lovely peach formal, complete with dainty pearl jewelry. At the final fitting she positively beamed, good-naturedly gloating over her victory. I countered by wearing the pearls to the rehearsal dinner ... with a floor-length DENIM halter dress. I won!
You can't take the denim away from the girl. You can take the girl out of the country, but ...
Some of us are willing to listen.Of course we canāt tell the newer generations anything because theyāre WAY too smart for us, and know everything there is to know because of their vast life experience.
