Always hated that smell. It made me sick. When my son was little, he loved playdoh but he had to play it outside because of the smellI remember the monkeys and I think mine were in a tube.
The PlayDoh came in metal tins but with a plastic top I think.

If I remember correctly these were cardboard cylinders but it also came in metal cans. Note the Captain Kangaroo marketing tie-in.

Anymore I just scoop flour into a measuring cup with a spoon and level off.We used to have one. My mom was a confectionist. Made wedding cakes and candy. And was a seamstress known for her christening gowns. I could probably still use a smock gathering machine
