Where I lived when I moved to Wyoming did not get TV reception so I never used it after that. By the time I moved to where I could get reception, color TVs were affordable.

You were rich! We had a 13" black and white TV until way into the 70s, and even then only got rid of it because the top half of the picture somehow got on the bottom half of the screen, and the bottom half got on the top. My father, who fixed and modified movie cameras for a living, couldn't fix it, so out it went. It was replaced by a Sony color TV that my mother saved for.
Right after mash I believe, when TV went off the air
Saw that too and the big fuss they made about it. I remember the Lawrence Welk show.
I remember we had a VW with a small area for bags behind the back seat where I sat/lay as the youngest of 4.. And my father smoked cigars while driving.
Once a year the VW-Garage organised a puzzle trip for cars. My father loved to join, but we always got lost somewhere halfway.

I remember watching Don Larson pitch a perfect game for the NY Yankees with my Grandfather on the old cabinet style B&W TV.
