I'm so old I Remember when:

Did you all have stilts and pogo sticks? Our playground was blacktop and I remember one game was to try and dislodge each other off stilts. You had to be able to balance on one stilt while using the other to trip the other kid up so a/he fell off.
I remember the tall stilts being really high off the ground (though I accept I was shorter at the time).
Still amazed that wasn’t banned by the school.
We lived in the country. Pogo sticks did not work well on the dirt.

Schoolyard Thunderdome AND you survived. You did survive, correct? I mean, you know, you’re not a ghost or an imaginary person………..right?;)

I survived and I wasn’t even the biggest or most athletic. I was kind of nerdy and quiet but I was good on stilts!
I have a few scars I must admit, and some are still visible after more than a half century.

My brother had stilts and a pogo stick
He was good at both
I tried both and ended up on the ground

• Phone booths - and calls were a dime.
• Photo mat booths - and it took weeks to get your photos back.
• Black and white TV with 8 channels and rabbit ear antennas.
• Movie theaters that always played double-features.
• Winter boots that were "slickers" - you put your foot in, shoes and all. Mom slipped an old bread bag over your shoe so you could get your foot in.
• The Pledge of Allegence, every morning, in school
• Manual typewriters, taking note hand, being graded on cursive penmanship

Who knows what this is?

You put the cap over your wet dippity doo hair rolled up in brush curlers
Connect like a vacuum cleaner hose to it and turn it on
And it blew up like
Jiffy pop popcorn

Remember watching the Newlywed Game, the Dating Game, the Ed Sullivan Show, Soul Train, the Mickey Mouse Club, PeeWee Herman (before he was caught mast**ba**g in an adult theater and ruined his career bwaaaahhhh!!!), Bozo the Clown, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color every Sunday at 7:30pm (never missed an episode), Dark Shadows, The Monkeys, The Addams Family and The Munsters, Petticoat Junction, oh I could go on and on......

Some of those and a whole lot more are on Pluto tv and Tubi tv and I still watch them
