I still remember the number you called to get the time and weather report

And my first phone number that I gave to my friends

Who remembers
Before cell phones and caller ID and answering machines when you would run to answer the phone just in case it was that long waiting phone call you were hoping to receive from that one special person

Remember before caller ID

When you no longer had to risk falling while running to catch the phone ringing before the caller counted 10 rings and hung up

You could call back the last number that called you

Prank calls
Calling the grocery store and asking something like “do y’all have any pigs feet?” When they said yes we would say something like “you better watch out here they come running!” And laughing while we would hang up the phone

Remember when there was only one phone company

The name only changed because of where you lived

We had
South central bell then it became
Bell south then it became
AT&T
Then you could choose what phone carrier you wanted

Last call - call back and caller ID put an end to prank calls & obscene calls
