And had long streamers blowing in the wind hanging from the hand grips

How about medical technology?
I have a cousin who was the world's first person under the age of 13 to receive a heart pacemaker. Had to have surgery every few years to replace the battery. It was the size of a hockey puck. She still has one today, although much smaller and no more battery replacement needed.

My grandma still gave me cod liver oil whenever I stayed with her. Nasty stuff!!!

I remember

my grandmother giving me cod liver oil yucky yuck yuck

And putting thick gunk on my neck and chest and wrapping me up
