My daughter incubated a dozen eggs last fall and one hatched. He was raised in the mud room until he had enough feathers to join the ladies with a heat lamp. He got a lot of attention inside. Now, he follows me around everywhere and is mean to my daughter. He will not have anything to do with the hens and just tries to get in the house. He waits for me all day and crows at the house. Any ideas of how to get him to do his roosterly duties??

Honestly, I'd rehome him simply because he's aggressive with your daughter. It might be in his best interest to join a new flock as well (preferably in a free range setting) since he's so attached to you and has minimal interest in your chickens. A change in scenery will force him to adapt. Handsome guy, though!

Agreed, if he's attacking your daughter he needs to be souped. Him not doing his job as a rooster is just another strike against him
