Incubating Swedish Flower Hen eggs

Hi, I was hoping anyone may have some good advice on incubating Swedish flower hen eggs? I’ve read all different things,I have some on the way and I’m not sure what to do. Online info is so limited and a lot of people say they are much harder to get a hatch. Some say no humidity until lockdown. But aren’t they just chicken eggs like all chicken eggs? I am confused. Any information from your experiences would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

I hatch them just like I'd hatch any other breed.

I'm incubating my Swedish hen eggs right now, on day 12. All developing except for 1 small egg. Using same method for any breed. 99.5 / 40-45 humidity.

Thanks so much. I’m so happy to get a couple similar responses. I’ve been so stressed about this. I am hoping for a good hatch and I am so excited to meet these little Swedish flower hen chicks when they hatch.

I incubate mine without making any adjustments and have been hatching them out with Marans this year. Great hatch rates. My worst hatch rate was a dry hatch and for some reason the SFH were the only breed that struggled with that.

I love mine and used the same methodology as any other chicken egg, they are really hardy once on their feet good...

Thanks, yes. I decided to treat them just like a normal hatch this time around because the last two batches It was recommended by the egg seller to do the dry hatch and every single egg slowly died /blood lines one at a time. I never got a single egg to hatch out of those two sets of eggs. But this was my third attempt from a different seller. I used the normal incubating rules, 99.5, 45 to 50humidity. Out of 14 eggs, only three hatched... but at least half I think were unfertilized. I still have one in the incubator, it was a very healthy veined egg on lockdown day candling / just like the three that did hatch on day 20. It’s been 3 days . How long should I give it before I give up on it? There’s no peeping inside. No pip. But it appears a formed chick inside. The air sac continues to grow. I’ll attach pictures of my new babies and of the candled egg in the incubator.

Hey that's interesting you got 1 black chick too. I got one on my hatch too.
You still need to follow the time frame hatching guidelines. If your on day 24 to 25 it's probably dead.
Oh and also, I incubated 8 eggs, only 4 hatched.
