I have a yuxi brand incubator that I am incubating some eggs on. I am in the last three days and it says to shut the egg turn off. The humidity has to be between 65 and 75% and the vent all the way open if I open the vent all the way I cannot get the humidity up. Can I leave it open just halfway or would this be a big problem?

The vent should stay open because the chicks need air. To increase humidity increase the surface area of water. In some environments (and incubators) sponges or wet clothes may need to be added. Another option would be to add a humidifier or run a shower in the room with the incubator.

It’s open just now all the way it’s open halfway. Is that safe?

I messed a whole text up it open halfway because I opened all the way and I couldn’t get it up to the humidity level that I needed between 65 and 75 the only way I’m able to get it that high is if I open the vent only halfway for the last three days of incubation

I just won’t don’t want to kill these chicks for the last three days after all my hard work

I did go ahead and put a sponge in there and it seems to be holding now at 72\73 with the vent fully open, so I’ll let you know for sure if it drops again thank you
